How names and surnames are written now
First things first: the spelling in your passport does not have to change. Documents already issued stay valid — we have a separate page on that. The table below is for correspondence, notices and new documents: the places where you write a name from scratch.

Many names do not change at all
Nilufar, Oybek, Tursunov, Alimov carry none of the four affected signs, so they look identical in two of the three scripts.
The rule is simple: if your name contains oʻ, gʻ, sh or ch, its spelling changes. If it does not, it does not.
Check your own name
Put it into the converter: the answer appears at once and the text never leaves your device. You can type the surname and patronymic along with it.
About documents, once more
Passport, birth certificate, diploma, bank card — none of them has to be replaced in a hurry. Documents already issued are valid, and the new letters reach them the ordinary way, when one expires.
The Latin spelling in an international passport is a separate matter: it follows international rules, and the alphabet reform does not touch it automatically. We will update this page when there is an official clarification.
